Welcome to Aspen House, a green, organic, real food B&B with a self-catering holiday cottage in the Herefordshire village of Hoarwithy.
Whatever your dietary preferences, at Aspen House you will experience a B&B serving only real food - fresh, seasonal, organic and locally produced.
We are Sally Dean and Rob Elliott, and we moved here in 2002, determined that Aspen House would be the kind of B&B that we would want to stay in ourselves. The phrase 'bed and breakfast' is undoubtedly the key element in the experience of staying in a guest house, and we believe that the bed must be comfortable and the breakfast excellent.
You will find quite a lot about food on this site. Our passion for real and tasty food is what drives us, to the extent that two books on the subject have been published, The Food Maze and How To Eat....like there's no tomorrow. Find out more at www.reallifepublishing.co.uk
The ideal B&B should be like a home-from-home. Aspen House is not a hotel (although it features in the Good Hotel Guide), it is our home and we welcome you to come to stay with us, whether you are on holiday or just visiting friends in our area. We hope that the atmosphere of the place will leave you feeling completely comfortable and relaxed. If you can feel at home whilst staying here, that is as it should be. Although we seek no accolades from the usual grading agencies, preferring to be judged by you, we are proud to have been featured in the Good Hotel Guide since 2008, and to have been awarded Gold by the Green Tourism Business Scheme (for more information see our Green Philosophy page).
Have we achieved our aspirations? That's really for you to say, but if the comments we have received from other guests are anything to go by, then we are sure you will not be disappointed
